Conducts survey of HC costs in Pueblo county (by DOI), modifies the nursing teacher loan forgiveness pilot to include rural teachers, creates nursing teacher recruit prgm, establishes (CDHPE - RFP) mobile cancer screening unit, creates a medical equip grant prgm for rural areas, creates medical equipment grant prgm & family mental health services grant prgm.

Health Care Special Districts
Specifies that the service plan for a special district that is a health service district or health assurance district shall not be submitted to the planning commission for the county in which the special district is proposed to be located- but instead to the board of county commissioners. Petition to go to voters for a levied sales and property tax

Public Notice Insurance Rates Increase
Requires DOI to post a notice on its website 30 days in advance of any rate increase for a type II kind of insurance or for reinsurance other than joint reinsurance, life insurance and annuities, sickness and accident insurance, nonprofit hospital and health services, HMO's, and surplus line insurance.

Add vision Hearing Dental to Medicaid
For optional services under the CO Medical Assistance Act, adds hearing and vision services and provision of partial dentures. Specifies minimum services to be covered.

HB07-1258 Sponsors: Primavera, Hagedorn
Medically Indigent Program Changes
Amends the language creating the CO health services fund, which transferred moneys to the medically indigent program (CICP) to remove the restriction that moneys be used for low-income adults, thereby allowing the funds to be used for all CICP enrollees, including children. Requires HCPF to maximize all available federal matching moneys for community health clinics to the extent allowed under fed law.

Extends Medicaid eligibility to persons <21and >18yrs in the foster care system, immediately prior to emancipation.

Early Intervention Service Coordinated Pmt
Requires DHS to develop coordinated payment system & requires coverage of EI services by public medical assistance and private health insurance.

SB07-36 Sponsors: Keller, Stafford
Mandatory Coverage Mental Disorders ICD9
Expands mandatory health insurance coverage to require coverage for mental disorders as defined by ICD-9.

SB07-078 Sponsors: Williams, Roberts
Restore Mandatory Offer Hospice Care
For basic health benefit plans issued or renewed to small groups on/after 1/1/08, restores requirement that policyholders be able to purchase coverage for benefits for costs of medically necessary home health services and hospice care.

SB07-130 Sponsor: Boyd
Medical Home For Children
Defines the term "medical home" as a primary care practice that provides continuous, accessible, and comprehensive medical and non-medical services to a child and his/her family
